Savell Bird & Axon was established in 1994, and became
one of the UK’s largest independent specialist transport
consultancies before joining the WYG group in 2007.
SBA have circa 90 people and 6 Directors between its
London, Manchester, Cardiff and Edinburgh offices, working on projects
throughout the UK and Ireland. The principals of the Company are
regularly involved as expert witnesses at Planning Inquiries,
and in providing strategic advice on emerging transport and land
use policy.
The link between land use planning and transport is currently an
issue of major and increasing importance to all involved in
assessing development opportunities. The issues are sometimes
complex in nature and require analysis on a site by site basis.
SBA have the experience and expertise to undertake this work is
are currently undertaking a number of projects where travel
patterns and environmental impact are of key importance.
The Company tackles all aspects of transport study and traffic
impact work, from initial assessments, through masterplanning,
design, travel plans, public transport, traffic impact analyses,
negotiation, and detailed highway design work. A substantial
proportion of our work relies on ‘problem solving’, and we pride
ourselves on taking imaginative and innovative approaches to
those tasks where that is required. Our sights are firmly
focussed on the overall objectives of the client, and our
approach to a project reflects that.
